Child Care Business Grant Program Applications Now Open!!

With generous funding from the San Luis Obispo County Board of Supervisors American Rescue Plan (ARPA),  program relief and stabilization grants are now available for the child care sector.   This grant program is administered in partnership by the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education, Early Care & Education Planning Council, Quality Counts, and CAPSLO Child Care Resource Connection.  All licensed child care programs, in good standing are eligible to apply.   Please follow the prompts to complete this online application process.  Please submit only one application on behalf of your program.  Applications must be submitted by the Program Director, Owner or an authorized representative.   Applicants will also be notified after your application has been reviewed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is eligible to apply?
Any child care program that is licensed with the CA Department of Social Services - Community Care Licensing and in good standing is eligible to apply.  Applications should be submitted by the Program Owner, Director or other authorized designee.  
How do i apply for a child care business grant?
Electronic applications are available by clicking on the application link above.  Included in the application is the requirement to upload a completed and signed W-9.  Paper applications may be requested by emailing ccpc@sanluischildcare.org or calling 805.782.7370.  
What is a W-9? Where do i get the blank form?
A W-9 Form is an IRS Request for Taxpayer Identification.  This must completed on behalf of the program.  Completed forms allow for grant payment.  Blank forms can be found at ​https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf.  
how will i know if my application is accepted?
Applicants will receive immediate confirmation that their application has been submitted.  Please allow 2 weeks after submission to receive your grant award notice and pending payment. 
I applied and received my grant award notice, how will my program receive payment?
Programs who have been awarded will receive a check from the San Luis Obispo County Office of Education by mail to the address submitted on the W-9 form.  
My program has multiple sites? Can I apply for multiple grants?
Only one grant may be awarded to each site.  If your program has multiple licenses (i.e. a preschool and an infant/toddler license), you will need to enter each license in the application, but you may only apply for one grant per site.  
can i submit a paper application?
Paper applications can be downloaded here (English/ Spanish).  To request a printed application, please call 805.782.7370.  Mail completed application and W-9 to:
