What is a Quality Rating and Improvement System (QRIS)?
Quality Counts Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) is a voluntary program designed to support, promote, and improve the quality of early care and education programs throughout San Luis Obispo County. A quality rating and improvement system (QRIS) is a shared set of standards that define high quality early care and education. Programs partnered with Quality Counts are assessed according to a rating matrix containing 3 core quality standards, assigned a quality rating, and provided with support and guidance to improve program quality.
Quality Counts assists early care and education providers by providing learning, compensation, and support; provids families information on the type of learning and care their young children receive; and informs policy makers and the public about the effectiveness of programs.
Join us in our effort to improve the quality of early care and education. Contact Quality Counts to learn how to participate!
